American firms began building this kind of cars to compete with the foreign automobile companies.  So, finally, in first half 1950s, General Motors came up with the sports car which was composed of fiber - entirely new material at that period.  In the second half 1950s, Ford created the sports car but in a year or so it was understood that Americans were looking for the comfort in the car that wasn't available in the European cars.  Eventually, GM came with the automobile named Thunderbird that required the American age big in the sports cars.

With the time, the slick sports car became increasingly cheaper, and people began asking for the addition of more comforts.  Slowly and steadily, the automobile became more functional and almost converted into the normal automobile car that's easy to drive with lots of facilities.  With the time, the sports cars have come to be fast, attractive and safe.  In today's age, the highest rate of a vehicle can go up to 450 miles, and that's fast.
